Hi, I’m Alicia — a mom of two living in Connecticut, originally from New York. I grew up with a dog by my side, and there is something about that bond between a child and their dog that never really leaves you.

My two kids want a dog more than anything in the world. Instead of saying yes without a plan, I threw myself into research. Every night after the kids were in bed I was reading, studying, and learning everything I could about bringing a dog into a family home and doing it right.

What started as a personal mission turned into something I never expected — a community of dog lovers and a library of over 100 articles helping dog owners across the country.

I’ve found that dogs make great companions — they are often kinder and more compassionate than people. And every dog deserves an owner who loves them that much in return.
